Update!
March 28th 2010
So.. I have been incredibly busy with school and renovating my house and my website and getting my business matters in order. So busy in fact that I have not been posting here on a regular bases like I plan to. Once things are settled I hope to start writing about my cake making adventures as well as start providing links and tutorials to help others learn how to make amazing cakes.
I feel like cake designing/baking is a field that anybody can get into and can get really good at IF they have the correct resources to learn the skills that they need. The internet world of cake decorators and bloggers has helped me immensely and I hope to give back as much as I can once I get some time.
As I mentioned before, in addition to my cake making, I am in school full time taking an information technology course. IT and cake designing are my passions (odd eh?) so I've kind of managed to get myself to a point where I'm in the peak of both of them at the same time…
Before I can really start blogging here I need to build this page out to support it.

The Beginning

My name is Lena and I am the maker of all the cakes you see on this site.
My cake making adventure started about a year ago when a friend of mine wanted me to make her wedding cake. I've always been the friend who brings the cute cupcakes and colorful cakes to celebrations but I had never really wandered into anything that required skill before this.
I told her that I would make her cake but that I wanted it to be awesome. Never having created anything like a wedding cake before I went straight to google and started my research. To see the Wedding cake that started it all click here.
I learned sooo much from this experience, however, the most important thing I learned was how much I actually loved to do this.
Cake is the medium through which I express myself. It allows me to be creative and inventive and also to help make peoples special occasions that much more special. I really do love it.
That's all I have for now. I have lots of plans for this site, including tutorials and videos, so stay tuned!
