1. How do I order a cake?

To start the order process, please send an email to info@lenasdesignercakes.com containing all of the following information:

• The date of your event.
• The occasion/nature of your event (wedding, birthday, etc).
• How many people you will need to serve.
• Your daytime phone number.
• Your email address.
• The event location, delivery address, and delivery time.
• An idea of what kind of cake design you are looking for.

I will contact you once I recieve your email to discuss your order further.

I do not have any cakes pre-made for sale. Every cake I make is custom made to order from start to finish.

2. How much do your cakes cost?

Due to the variety of cakes that I offer I do not have a standard price list. My cakes are typically priced individually based on the complexity of the design, as well as the type of cake desired.

Wedding cakes tend to cost a bit more than the average cake due to their size and decoration.

3. How far in advance do I need to order?

The more time the better - especially for wedding cakes.

The minimum amount of time that I require is 72 hours notice.

4. Can you make cakes for people with dietary restrictions?

I am currently in the testing phase with some of the special dietary recipies that I have found. They will be tested before I add them to my options. If you have a special dietary requirement let me know and I'll be sure to do whatever I can to accomidate it.

5. Do you ship your cakes? How about your cake toppers?

At this time I do not ship cakes

If a custom topper is what you're after then those I can ship. An example of a custom topper would be the lamb topper on the following baby shower cake (click to see page). Shipping costs depend on where you are located.

6. Do you make "Fake" wedding cakes?

Yes, I do. However, please remember that the cost of having an artificial cake is the same as the cost of a "real" cake. On the plus side, artifical cakes can often be crafted in dimensions that a real cake would not withstand or would be prohibitively expensive.

I do rent wedding cakes. Please contact me for more information on renting a wedding cake.

7. Is there a deposit required on my order?

Wedding Cakes - There is a $50.00 Deposit paid to reserve your date. Also - this deposit is put toward the overall cost of your cake. For example - if your cake was $100.00 you would only owe $50.00 on your cake after the deposit is received.

Other Occasion Cakes - currently there is no deposit on other occasion cakes.

8. Do you offer private tastings? Do they cost anything?

I do offer private tastings on wedding cakes or larger cake orders where you might need more than one flavor. Tastings allow you and a few of your decicion makers to sample 3 different cake flavors paired up with 3 frosting or filling flavors.

If a tasting is done prior to officially booking your wedding cake it does cost $30.00 - which is deducted from the cost of your cake if you do decide to book it with me.

If a tasting is done for anything other than a wedding cake arrangements would need to be made and cost would need to be worked out.

9. Do you deliver?

I will deliver up to 3-5 hours away from my home in Port Maitland Nova Scotia. Delivery fees depend on how far away you are from me.

I don't make money from delivery charges, they are just sufficient to cover my out-of-pocket expenses.
